I admit: I am a denier

Yes it is true I am a denier so sue me. Until there is proof positive that humans are contributing to the changes in the environment then I don't buy what the scientists are selling. The fact is the world is a living organism that is constantly changing. The world has at various points in its life been covered in ice just to have the ice melt away. The climate changes, get used to it, this is nothing new.

The issue that I have been pondering lately is why is there so much focus on climate change today. The answer is simple, money. How do scientists get funding? By researching a topic that is of interest to people who are then willing to pay you for your research. If there was no such thing as global warming then what would all the scientists do for a living? The topic du jour used to be overpopulation and research into third world countries, today it is global warming. I don't blame the scientists I too chase the might dollar. But I don't make up fairy tales and lies to further my career and get a raise. So for all of you that are buying the BS that the scientists are selling please consider their motivations. The scientists are just as self serving as you and I.

Couldn't have said it better myself

"In evaluating the socialistic welfare state, it might be timely to reflect on a few basic economic truths, which have been proved many times in the course of history:
• Governments cannot give to the people what they do not first take away.
• You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
• You cannot legislate the poor into economic freedom by legislating the wealthy out of it.
• That which one man receives without working for, another man must work for without receiving.
• Nothing can kill the initiative of a people more quickly than for half of them to get the idea that they need not work because the other half will feed them, and for the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work since someone else receives the rewards of their labours."

A great story - thanks Larry

Here is a great story I read on Larry Kudlow's blog.

A Father and Daughter
Great, instructive, little story...

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like many others her age, she considered herself a liberal Democrat, very much in favor of the redistribution of wealth. She was deeply ashamed that her father was a staunch Republican.

One day she challenged her father on both his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the addition of more welfare programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

He responded by asking her how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load, constantly studying and had little time to go out and party like other people she knew.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus, college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes."

Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades. I've invested a lot of time and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

The Greatest Myth of our Time

When will the madness and lies stop regarding climate change (or global warming or whatever it is called these days)? Supporters of the man-made climate change theory appear concerned that their theories are not sound and are subject to easy criticism, so to ensure they are heard they want to shut the opposition up. Heidi Cullen from the Weather Network is advocating that the American Meteorological Society revoke their "Seal of Approval" for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe. So much for freedom of speech, so much for a fair debate of the issues as a way to determine the truth. (click here for article)

Let's be clear, we are far from a consensus on the impact humans have on climate change. Scientists are divided on this issue and are unsure themselves. Take for instance Claude Allegre, once a strong advocate for global warming he has now changed his view to state that humans are not responsible for the changes in the climate. (see here)

If we still do not have a consensus on this issue then we must continue to explore all avenues to determine the facts.

In a related note, I strongly suggest that you read the article titled "A skeptics guide to debunking global warming alarmism..." Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla), was behind this article and it provides some great insights into this issue.

But please lets stop the media hype and scare tactics and face the facts.

Great for Canada, Great for Conservatives, Bad for Liberals

Here is an interesting story that caught my attention. It appears that the Liberals chose the right person to lead their party. In true Liberal fashion Dion has continued the tradition of putting the interests of the Liberal party ahead of the interests of Canadians.

This decision by Dion makes sense if you understand the Liberals only defense against the Conservatives, which is "the Conservatives are scary". The Liberals can not work with or associate with the Conservatives otherwise Canadians may begin to realize that the Conservatives are really not that scary. It only makes sense then that Dion would forbid his MP's from working with the Conservative party, otherwise their whole argument that the Conservative government is scary would be found to be the fraud that it is.
