Villains and Heroes

"The reason so many people misunderstand so many issues is not that these issues are so complex, but that people do not want a factual or analytical explanation that leaves them emotionally unsatisfied. They want villains to hate and heroes to cheer-- and they don't want explanations that do not give them that." - Thomas Sowell, Townhall.com

This quote applies to so much that is happening right now. The factual explanation for the current economic crises is emotionally unsatisfying. People want a villain to hate (greedy bankers, free market, President Bush) and a hero to cheer (Barack Obama, government bailouts, regulation).

nevermind the fact that DEREGULATION is one of the root causes of this mess. When you allow ponzi schemes and drunken money orgies to occur without "checks" - you don't just put a few people at risk, you put the entire country at risk.

It's funny how you conservatives don't want to see redistribution of wealth, YET WE ALREADY HAVE IT. to the tune of 1 trillion dollars so far... and congress wants to take YOUR 401K and use it to bail out more companies...

So what, conservatives support redistributing EVERYONE'S wealth to the rich and greedy; while the poor get poorer, and the middle class shrinks because owning nice things costs too much in taxes?

I commend your impeccable logic.
