Government in Everything

As the U.S. government has decided to stick its nose in the financial sector it will be difficult to stop there. What's next? GM, Ford, and Chrysler.

“Additional support from the U.S. government to aid the auto industry during this industry downturn is essential” GM said (Click here for the article.)

I will not be surprised (especially since Obama has said he is in favor of giving failing businesses money) to see the U.S. government doling money out to the American auto manufacturers. Where does this cycle end? What about all of the other sectors that are hard hit? Soon the U.S. government will be involved in all sectors of the economy. Now there's a scary thought.

What annoys me about the canadian big-3 CAW workers is that during the bad-times they whine about tax-payer bail-outs as some kind of entitlement, but once the Big-3 start to show a profit we her the CAW whine about wanting a raise and better pension and benefits as if the profits are THEIR money and not the private shareholders dividend cheques.

No wonder the CAW doesn't want the Big-3 to get a LOAN-deal from the government, it's better to get a taxpayer bail-out so that in the Good-times they can also rape the shareholders that take all the risks with their own money .

Time to stop this insane vicious circle of giving money to the Big-3 just to pretend to make cars people want while the CAW workers pretend to build cars people are actually buying .

About 20 years ago a local building was torn down and right next to it was the well-preserved wall of a 1-storey brick Office for a small business , and when drove near the building at about 1/2 a block away you could make out a faint AD painted on the side for a Horse Carriage or Buggie repair depot .
Are we taxpayers expected to keep Buggie repair shops going because they employed local people and kept other jobs afloat?
And in 30 years will Ontarion be the only place on Earth that Makes gas power Low-Mileage cars because we needed to prop up the jobs that included suppliers and retail sales dealers?

I truely feel sorry for the young families that will bare the brunt of the lay-offs because of the Senority system in Unions where good-old Joe makes the $65.00 an hour with 8 weeks off a year and gets to put the MSRP sheets on the drivers side window as the cars leave the assembly lines .
When the CAW members stop shopping at walmart or buying the slave-labour Electrinocs item for the home, then I'll take them seriously.
Until then, why should I put a canadian made car in my garage when they don't even put canadian made products in their Houses?
